"I cannot remember a time when I was not in love with them--with the books themselves, cover and binding and the paper they were printed on, with their smell and their weight and with their possession in my arms, captured and carried off to myself." ~Eudora Welty
I so wish our apartment has enough room to make a little reading nook. I would so love to curl up with a good book, blanket, and a hot cup of tea in my own sweet little nook. I'll just have to dream about one day having my own and until then, I'll drool over these lovelies.

I like the idea of curling up on a comfy spot with all of them surrounding me. |
So pretty, classic, and modern! |
I love the big sofa, all white room, and the books piled up vertically. Adds a nice "I have too many books" feel. |
I like the feel that an all white room gives. Makes the books stand out more. |
This one screams "come sit with me for hours & get lost in a book," and I think I could do just that. |

We officially celebrated Valentine's Day this past weekend at an awesome restaurant my Mr. has been wanting to take me to for a while, but I just couldn't help showing him a little love on the actual holiday. I love doing special little things for people, especially my love. I didn't have to work, so I had dinner ready for him by the time he got home, and had our little kitchen table decorated with candles and a super cute table cloth. It was quite lovely, and he didn't expect that at all, which made it even more special. We ate our spaghetti in childish excitement last night.
Then, to make the night even gushier, we danced in our living room to romance songs and watched WAY too cute animal youtube videos till our hearts exploded.
Can I take a moment to say that I love my fiance? He really is the best thing to happen in my life. I was recently hired at a maid service job and worked three days last week. Last Friday I cleaned for about 10 hours, and after not doing a whole lot of physical activity for a while, myback everything was pretty sore. When I got home, he had already made a very wonderful, tasty meal, and gave me a message before bed! How awesome is that?! Yes indeed, I do love that man.
Here's one of the videos we saw that is almost too much cuteness to handle.
Omg...it's just too much! Ahhhhhhh!!!!!

My friend over at Shannon*Bear has this as a regular blog topic and I liked the idea. Lately I have been trying to find the wonderful in the little things, and I think doing this series will help me find the lovelies in all of life's wonders. Hope you all enjoy!
1. Coffee!! I miss the quaint little coffee shop in my hometown. It was the best coffee I think I've ever had-way better than "stinkybucks." I wish I could get my hands on some...wonder if they have a website? I don't have a coffee machine nor is there a good coffee/book store near here like there were in WNC, so needless to say, I have been having cravings out the wah-zoo!!! Insert Maxwell House French Vanilla Cafe. Not the best, but not bad either.
2. Pandora!! Oh the wonders of internet and free music sites such as this one. I love discovering new music and this site lets me do that! My ears love it too. Mumford & Sons station is highly recommended!!!
3. Books! Omg, i love, love, love, love reading! I've been going through a lot recently with all the extra time I have on my hands. If only I had some Panacea coffee to go with them! Here's what I've been reading lately.
4. I'm recently engaged and I can't stop thinking about details of the wedding. Dress, hair, location, wedding rings, all that mushy stuff. Even though it's over a year away, I just can't help myself. I started looking for wedding rings that would go with my engagement ring right away, and I found the perfect ring for me. It's a little pricey I think, but I feel my heart is already set on it. I will still look around and keep an open mind though.
5. Being newly engaged, I have to put my fiance on the list. It just wouldn't be right. lol It's not just the fact that he is my fiance, but enjoying the time we spend together, even if it's just lounging around the house. I can't wait to see where the future takes us.
Thanks for reading! xoxo

My name is Amy and I'm a horrible cook. I feel bad for my fiance, I really do. I don't know what happened during my youth that made me not interested in cooking with my mom, but I never really got into it. I would help her stir or add ingredients... the small stuff, but nothing major. So now, I'm cooking illiterate. I can do the basics, but barely.
David and I recently bought a crock pot, but we didn't have any recipes. He has been itching to make a beef stew and we bought a crock pot recipe book that he like. Last night I cut up all the veggies to make it easier to make this morning. It didn't taste too bad, but I wasn't really impressed with it either. It had potatoes, carrots, baby sweet peas, onions, and some other spices and stuff. The thing that turned me off most was actually the meat. I don't know what it was about it, but it kinda had a bad flavor to it, if at all. David liked it, so I guess that's the most important thing. He even went back for seconds.
I wish I was a good cook, or at least a semi decent cook. I told David he could fix the next crock pot meal, but I actually enjoyed cutting the veggies and getting everything ready. I just wish it tasted as good as the effort put into it. On to the next dish. Oh well...at least I'm good at quesadillas!

It has been a long time since my last post. Lots of things have taken place. Got a job, lost a job, been happy, sad and every emotion in between. Out of all of these things, the most important and exciting event that took place is getting engaged to my love!! I'll be honest, things have not been the easiest for us after making the decision to move in together. I guess that is the price to pay when you take a chance on love, but I am okay with that. Throughout all of our hardships, we still have each other and have not driven each other crazy (yet!). We decided to get engaged right around Christmas time. It was a mutual agreement, so there was no surprise propose, and we both picked the ring out at the store. This decision came at the perfect time. We are so happy and are looking forward to starting the wedding process. David is my best friend, and he has been for the past few years since we started dating. I am so excited to spend the rest of my life with him and start a family with him.

I would like to share how David and I met. I love our "story." It is unique and somewhat unusual. We met on an online game called world of warcraft, or w.o.w. Wow is a game where you pick a character, level them up by doing quests/objectives, and can interact with other players too. My brother had got me into the game shortly after I graduated college in 2007. David started playing around this time as well. For the most part, I just played the game when I was bored and kept to myself.
I didn't really talk to other people too much. One day though, I was doing a quest that was pretty hard for one person to do on their own and there just happened to be other people there that were working on the same quest as me. In the game, you have the option of grouping up with other people to help one another out, and David just so happened to be one of those people in the group. He was pretty talkative I thought, seeing as how he didn't know anyone in the group. I talked to him in the group and we even sent each other a few personal messages that only the two of us could see. He was nice though and thanked everyone for their help after we were done with the quest. After that, David and I ended up doing more and more quests together.
At first, it was just grouping up to make the game a little easier and more enjoyable, but the more we talked, the more we liked hanging out with each other. After a year or so of playing the game, we realized we were only getting on to talk to each other and didn't even bother playing at all sometimes. This was when we decided to take it out of the game.Texts led to phone calls, which led to Skype, which led to us deciding to meet face to face. It wasn't love at first sight either. He was nervous, I was nervous, and it was all sorts of weird and uncomfortable at first. But it worked out and before long there were talks of moving to be closer to each other. He lived in Illinois and I in North Carolina.
It was a big step to think about, but I felt I had to take a chance on love. He has a son that lives here and didn't want to move that far away from him, so I moved in with David in the summer of 2009. It hasn't been easy to move away from my parents, friends, my job, and everything else I'm comfortable with, and some people might (and do) tell me that I have a screw loose, but I feel it was worth it. I can't wait to marry my best friend!
Thanks for reading! xoxo
